Thank you DJ & Erica. What a lovely piece of heaven on earth! The weather exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful hike along the way. Warm cozy cabins, great fires & good times with our friends. The Whiteshell is perfect in the fall!

From the minute you are greeted at the store by Erica, til the last few minutes in the cabin, it was the best holiday we have had in a long time. Once we unpacked I could feel the stress leave my body. We had a great week here, enjoyed going for bike rides, hiking, and just hanging out at the pool. This was the best way for me to recharge my battery. Hope to see you again.

Our second visit to Barrier Bay Resort did not disappoint. We celebrated both our honeymoon and first anniversary in cabin #5. We were so thankful to have this short getaway in such a peaceful and relaxing environment. Once again, Erica & DJ anticipated our every need as we forgot our anniversary steaks at home and lost our sandals in the Pinawa Channel. We were able to visit the store whenever needed. Already planning our next return to the area. Thanks for the hospitality!

Ice Fishing Experience

Make your stay at Barrier Bay Resort even more memorable with this exciting opportunity to experience Manitoba’s favourite winter pastime!

Are you new to ice fishing? Or maybe you’ve wanted to try this fun activity but didn’t know where to start nor want to commit to the cost of the equipment? With our Ice Fishing Experience Package, you can have all the fun without any of the hassles.

You have your option of booking a 4-hour outing anytime between 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM or go all out and try the All-Day Outing starting at 10:00 AM and packing it up at 5:00 PM. Whichever outing you book, Barrier Bay Resort will handle all the setup and takedown tasks, including drilling the holes for you.

All the equipment you will need will be provided to you. This includes a tent, rods, chairs, and propane heated. All you need to bring is a Manitoba Fishing License (available online, click here to be taken there), bait, lures, and, of course, yourself.

The Ice Fishing Experience will be a treasured memory that will lead you to get hooked on fishing. We can guarantee that you will “catch” a pleasant adventure!
